Giessbach Falls – Brienz

Originating in the high valleys and basins of the Faulhorn-Sägis Valley, the Giessbach brook flows gracefully, nourishing the renowned Giessbach Falls. These falls cascade into Lake Brienz near the landing stage. Since the 19th century, a footpath has guided visitors to venture close to and beneath the waterfall. Over the years, the 14 steps of the Giessbach Falls have been christened with the names of Bernese heroes, preserving a historical connection to this natural wonder.
